Following on from the Government guidance,  we are providing a wide range of home learning resources both online and in the form of paper packs. Please use the links in the column on the right. 

Please find below a range of websites with activities to support your child’s learning whilst at home, these will be consistently updated, so please keep checking as more fantastic resources become available.

The images will help you know that you are on the right site, the links will take you straight there.





Ask Mr Norrie 

On Friday 3rd July, there is another fantastic opportunity to ask our CEO Wayne Norrie any questions you may have, send pictures of any work you have completed such as writing, painting or simply a story of what you have been up to the during the school closure. Most importantly he is asking you to send hilarious jokes to keep him entertained. This opportunity is for our pupils.

You can email any stories, work, pictures and jokes to the following email address: These will need to emailed before 2pm on Thursday 2nd July.

Then visit the following link at 2pm on Friday afternoon to hear from Mr Norrie.

Your child may have to log in using their school username followed by and password, the same one as used to log on to school laptops. 

Queensmead Story Telling Flip Grid

To help support reading for pleasure, teachers will be uploading videos of them telling stories and reading books to our school FlipGrid. Please click the button below to access, or scan the QR code. These will be regularly updated.

New Off School website


Off School is free for all families. Throughout the school closure period local teachers and authors will be creating short films of fun learning activities for families at home to keep children excited and enthusiastic to learn! Off School also helps parents and carers navigate their way through the maze of activities that are available. There is also a competition zone.

White Rose Maths

Are broadcasting year group videos every day at 10am for pupils to watch and take part in. There is a bank of videos, activities and answers. 


Are streaming all stories for children free on any device whilst schools remain closed. 

Phonics Play

Has been made free over this period so parents can access the resources without the need for a subscription. Username: march20, Password: home. 

The Maths Factor

Has announced it will be free during the duration of the school closures. 

David Walliams

Is releasing a free audio story every day for the next 30 days.

Read Write Inc Phonics

Phonics films will be shown for Set 1, 2 and 3 Speed Sounds from 9:30am – 11:00am.

Active Learning

Teachers are ensuring that children’s reading levels are up to date and this site has many great resources. Children can read a book to you or they can enjoy hearing a book read to them.

A variety of games for all here   


Lots of interactive materials for children aged 1 to 6. They are offering free full access with live classes and on demand classes – parents just need to sign up. 


This site will lead you to a wealth of websites to support home learning.

Oxford Owl

Oxford Owl for Home is a bright and colourful website with free resources available to download without registering. Aimed at primary children, they offer activities for reading, English, Mathematics and interactive games. There’s also handy “How to” videos to explain tricky concepts. Oxford Owl’s free e-book section is wonderful. It’s still free but you need a log-in to access it. Great if your little ones would like to keep in touch with Biff, Chip & Kipper!

BBC Bitesize

Lots of educational games and resources for all ages. 

Reading Eggs

Register for a free trial to get 2 weeks access to reading resources suitable for all. A free trial month password was provided for all pupils in home learning packs.

Nasa Kids Club

Lots of space related activities for all children.  

Education Quizzes

Select the KS1 option from the home page and there are lots of activities here which will help your child recall previous learning.   

Top Marks

A range of activities here but especially good interactive activities for maths. 

First News

Provides schools with a unique platform for news-based learning. Free subscription and resources during closures.

Homeschool for me

f you need access to free worksheets and activities, here's another good place to start. Our friends in the USA have made a really valuable platform here. You'll need to convert the year groups though! As a rough guide: Reception = Pre-Kindergarten, Year 1 = Kindergarten, Year 2 = 1st Grade

Classroom Secrets

Classroom Secrets Kids is offering FREE access to everyone until the end of April 2020. The platform is aimed at primary aged children and covers subjects such as maths, reading, grammar and spelling. The platform is really child-friendly so that they're able to access it on their own. There's load of games and interactive activities from phonics to SATs

National Geographic Kids

National Geographic is a great platform for learning and it’s totally free. There’s online games, resources and competitions too.
