What is the Sports Premium?

The Government provides funding  to support new, sustainable and substantial primary school sport spending. This funding is being jointly met and provided by the Departments for Education, Health & Culture and Media and Sport - and shall see money going directly to primary school Headteachers and Principals to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children.

The sport funding can only be spent on sport and PE provision at Queensmead Primary Academy. We have joint priorities with the Greenwood Academy Trust.

Purpose of Funding

The Academy will spend the sport premium funding on improving our provision of PE and sport through and beyond the school day, but we have the freedom to choose how we do this.

The amount allocated for the PE and Sports Premium funding to Queensmead is approximately £19,000. The plans shown below demonstrate how we are expecting to use this to improve our PE and sport provision.

We have a range of after school sports clubs that children can take part in. These vary according to the term we are in and are often dependent on the weather.
